Lacquer art restorer, living in Kyoto.
To continue the traditional technique of Kintsugi, established in the Edo period、 I have been involved in “lacquer art” restoration of temples, shrines, Buddhist statues, porcelain and lacquerware for about 50 years.
In 2022, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Vatican, I was invited by the Japanese foreign ministry to introduce Kintsugi in various museums and cultural establishments in Italy. I am part of many NPO activities aimed at preserving and passing on excellent Japanese craftsmanship culture.
