Some people may be surprised to hear “SCHRECK HOUSE”. Don’t be scared. This is the name of my family who first arrived in Japan in 1920 and has been living here since then. A vintage house in Hiroo is a reminder of the deep relation of the Schreck family with Japan. In order to continue serving as a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world, we want to share the richness of Japan through cultural activities. We hope this house will become a community center fostering cross-cultural exchanges between Japanese and foreigners living in Japan.

Events and workshops such as arts and crafts, cooking, tea ceremonies, other gatherings around modern applications of Japanese cultural traditions will be offered.

The basic concept is ”Sharing and enjoying the beauty of WA”.
