Part I: The Art of Wagashi
Discover the elegance of wagashi, Japan’s refined confectionery, through a special talk and hands-on experience. Explore how centuries-old traditions are being reinterpreted for the modern age. Participants will then create their own nerikiri sweets and enjoy an exclusive pairing of wagashi with premium sake.
Part II: Dinner & Exchange
Savor a light dining experience accompanied by select sake, in an intimate setting designed for meaningful conversation among participants.

Lecturer Profile
Chisato Tanaka
Renowned for creating “Kawaii Nerikiri”—wagashi blending playful artistry with diverse flavors of bean paste—Tanaka has introduced the art of wagashi to over 4,000 participants and trained more than 200 instructors.
Her work has been featured at cultural events in Spain and New York, as well as through government initiatives such as the METI and JETRO’s Silicon Valley program. She was also awarded Second Prize at an Osaka Expo–related competition.Tanaka’s passion for wagashi continues to grow, and today she shares the beauty of Japanese confectionery not only in Japan but also around the world.
